JOAN B. MCLAUGHLIN, retired Associate Professor of English at Clemson University, has published on Anais Nin, Sylvia Plath, Robert Lowell, James Dickey, John Kennedy Toole, D. H. Lawrence and the Bloomsbury writers. She is a native of Louisiana, born in New Orleans, and received her B.A from Nicholls State University, M.A. from Louisiana State University New Orleans, and Ph.D from the University of Texas at Austin.
JACK MCLAUGHLIN, Professor Emeritus at Clemson University, is author of The Housebuilding Experience; To His Excellency Thomas Jefferson, Letters to a President; and Jefferson and Monticello, the Biography of a Builder, a finalist for the National Book Award.
The McLaughlins live in Clemson, S.C. and until recently maintained a home in Berwick, La. where family members still reside.
